| Abstract | ||||
| A three-element stand by redundant system with repair and preventive maintenance is considered. The Laplace transform of the survivor function of the system and its mean value are derived. Under certain restrictions it is shown that the preventive maintenance is useful only if performed after finite time T0 of continuing operation without failure. | ||||
