Abstract | ||||
Estimates of the three parameters τ,μ,σ of the lognormal distribution are obtained by using the local exponential approximation g(x) ae^(Bx) where g(x) is the ratio of the ordinate and probability integral of the standardized normal distribution. A comparison is made between the exponential and the linear (Tiku (6)) and quadratic (Syler (5)) estimates. The estimates τ,μ and ,σ are also obtained by using the moment method. Averages over ten samples are computed and so are the variances. | ||||
