Abstract | ||||
Molecular genetic variability among seven Limes and Lemons cultivars were studied. The generated profiles revealed high levels of polymorphism with a total of 79 bands over all the seven cultivars’ using SCoT and ISSRs (41 and 38, respectively). The recorded data of Scot and ISSRs revealed total monomorphic bands of 43 (24 and 19, respectively). The total polymorphic bands were 36 (14 and 22, respectively) with polymorphism percentage of 36.64% - 53.65%, respectively. Moreover, the unique marker bands were scored as 11 (6 and 5, respectively). The genetic distance (GD) of SCoT ranged from 0.86 to 0.972 and it was higher than the range of genetic distance of ISSRs which was from 0.750 to 0.933. While the genetic distance of combined data was from 0.823 to 0.950. Cluster analysis divided the Lime and Lemon cultivars into two main clusters. The outcome of this research will provide helpful and potential information for more studies in genetic diversity, population genetics and genetic improvements in breeding programs of Lime and Lemon cultivars. | ||||
