Abstract | ||||
This research aimed mainly at identifying the Obstacles of Using Agricultural Extension Workers for Information and Communication Technology, as well as identifying their views on proposals to overcome the obstacles to the use of information and communication technology in agricultural extension. The field study was conducted in four governorates as they include the largest number of agricultural extension workers, namely the governorates of Menoufia and Beheira in Lower Egypt, and the governorates of Assiut and Qena in Upper Egypt, and the research sample was determined by applying the Krejcie & Morgan equation and amounted to 250 respondents from a total of 712 agricultural extension workers in the four governorates, using a form A personal interview questionnaire specially prepared for this purpose During the period from mid-January to mid-March 2023, It was used in data analysis of frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, weighted average, and relative weight, through a computer using the SPSS statistical software package for social sciences. The most important results of the research were as follows: - The most financial and administrative obstacles are: Low financial resources required to equip agricultural extension workplaces (90.0%). - The most constraints related to the human resource are: the poor level of English language skills among the agricultural extension workers and among the audience of the beneficiaries as well (86.7%). - Most of the obstacles related to information and communication technology tools are: the need for information and communication technology tools to be renewed and replaced as a result of their rapid development and the development of their programs (87.0%). - The most important proposals of the respondents to overcome the obstacles to the use of information and communication technology in agricultural extension are: Providing the necessary financial support to employ the use of information and communication technology in agricultural extension (97.3%). | ||||
