Abstract | ||||
Background Intravenous lidocaine has been shown to be an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication with modulation of excessive inflammatory response. Results Our study detected increased fentanyl consumption in the recovery for the fentanyl group more than the lidocaine group. The request of the first dose of analgesic was significantly longer in lidocaine group than in fentanyl group. Conclusion The usage of intraoperative lidocaine infusion decreased postoperative fentanyl requirements as analgesic in patients undergoing renal transplantation.
