Abstract | ||||
Today's healthcare big data management systems face major challenges in terms of data transparency and traceability, immutability and auditing, data source and flexible access, trust, privacy, and security. There is also a large part of current healthcare data management systems that are leveraged centrally, which poses potential risks of failure in the event of natural disasters. Blockchain is an emerging decentralized technology that has the potential to dramatically revolutionize, reshape and transform the way data is handled in the healthcare industry. This study discusses how the benefit of blockchain for healthcare big data management systems can spur innovations and make significant improvements, through the key features and characteristics that blockchain offers that make it ideal for healthcare big data management. One of the results of this study was to propose the idea of an electronic medical record framework using a blockchain-based application, as this framework aims to store patient records in the blockchain system and share them between healthcare entities in a more efficient and reliable way. In addition to the patient's ability to control access to his information and records at any time, with a complete record of all medications or operations that the patient has performed since the beginning of the disease, as well as the dates and duration of the disease, and thus knowing his condition and treatment correctly. | ||||
