Abstract | ||||
The agricultural sector is considered one of the most important commodity sectors of great importance in contributing to economic activity, as it contributes about 10.7% of the gross domestic product in Egypt, and also absorbs about 20.3% of the labor force, according to 2020 data, The value of agricultural production increased annually, and the average production about 242.49 billion during the period (2000-2020), representing about 11.79% of the real GDP, which led to an increase in the growth rate of real agricultural output and per capita output. On the other hand, the investments directed to agriculture have decreased, annually at a rate of 2.6% from the average value of the agricultural orientation index of government spending, which is about 0.16%. It was one of the main factors affecting agricultural output during the period (2000-2020). The study recommends some recommendations in order to: 1. increase the development and efficiency of water use and land resources. 2. directing more investments to the agricultural sector. 3. the need to increase the awareness of farmers and workers in the agricultural field of the importance of sustainable agricultural development .4. increase the value of agricultural exports and encourage to opening of new markets for commodities. 5. and increase the volume of credit granted to the agricultural sector. | ||||
