Abstract | ||||
Background: A hydrocele is a collection of peritoneal fluid between the parietal and visceral layers of the tunica vaginalis. Aim: to compare between the traditional inguinal incision and single high scrotal incision in management of encysted hydrocele of the cord in children Patients and Methods: In this prospective randomized study, forty boy patients aged from 2 to 18 years were operated in Pediatric Surgery Unit at Aswan University Hospital. This study was performed from April 2022 till March 2023 Results: The mean hospital stay, The mean operative time, Pediatrics more than 4 years old assessed by Faces pain score, Pediatrics more than 4 years old assessed by Faces pain score, while Pain score for pediatrics less than 4 years old assessed by FLACC pain score, the mean postoperative assessment and The early assessment after 10 days from the operation between two groups was statistically significant. Conclusion: Single high scrotal incision technique was highly effective without any side effect other than traditional incision techniques in the management of encysted hydrocele of the cord in children. | ||||
