Abstract | ||||
The ever-increasing concern and interest, among Egyptian Agricultural Researchers (EARs), about Nano Technology (NT), reflect the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030), that focus on eradication of hunger and poverty, through building resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. The application of NT resolutions, as well, could effectively contribute to the mitigation of, and adaptation with, the negative impacts of climate change, and in turn, promote the agricultural productivity and farming income. Additionally, the Egypt’s high interest in applying NT reflects the serious Research and Development (R&D) efforts to achieve the Egypt vision 2030, of the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS 2030). The general objective of this study was to explore the EARs’ points of views about the concept of NT, and its potential uses or contributions in facilitating and improving different agricultural production and marketing activities. The specific objectives include: investigating the current and potential or expected contribution of NT in facilitating the following areas of agricultural production and marketing processes: providing production inputs, modernizing different processes and services of performing production and marketing activities, minimizing costs of transporting agricultural services , commodities and products, maximizing farming economic net returns, in addition to facilitating the provision of different services related to improving the quality of rural life. Data were collected from a purposive sample of 79 EARs from different Agricultural Research and Educational Institutions, including Faculties of Agriculture and Agricultural Research Institutes of the Agricultural Research Center (ARC), the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MALR) | ||||
