| ABSTRACT The goal of the current investigation was to determine whether LUPINES (termis) have an antihyperglycemic effect on diabetic rats produced by alloxan. El Osman Farm in Cairo, Egypt provided a total of 40 male albino rats. Animals were kept in stainless steel cages with unlimited access to food and water. Each animal was sound and clinically disease-free. Four equal groups of 10 rats each were formed by randomly dividing the rats into groups, and each group received one of the following diets: Group 1: Normal Control feed normal diet; Group 2: Normal rat feed normal diet plus 5% Lupines; Group 3: Diabetic rat feed normal diet; Group 4: Diabetic rat feed normal diet plus 5% Lupines. Each group had blood samples taken after 30 and 60 days since the experiment's start. Blood samples were centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 15 minutes to separate the serum, which was then stored in the freezer for later analysis. Also, blood samples were collected at the conclusion of the experiment to be used in the determination of the hematological parameters. The current study showed that LUPINES (termis) medicinal herbs reduced the risks associated with diabetes. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the sources of LUPINES (termis) in foods. Moreover, eating diets high in LUPINES (termis) medicinal herbs may help reduce the risks associated with diabetes. Keywords: alloxan, hypoglycemic, Lupines | ||||
