Abstract | ||||
The aim of the current research is to identify the phenomenon of functional language disorder, one of the most widespread communication disorders among people. It may lead to a replacement, distortion, addition or deletion in the language of communication between people and each other. The reason may be due to environmental deprivation, childish behavior, emotional problems, or slowness. Linguistic development experienced by children with speech disorders. Which helped to choose new horizons to uncover the psychological and social variables associated with functional language disorder. The researchers selected a sample of male and female children studying foreign and Arabic languages, whose ages ranged between six and nine years. They were selected randomly in order to verify the validity of the hypotheses. Data were collected through the Psychological Adjustment Scale and the Language Development Scale. The standards were judged and applied to the sample, and the research showed several results, including: There are statistically significant differences between the research sample according to the social level variable for the scale of psychological and social variables among children studying foreign languages (bilingual).. There is also a statistically significant correlation between the total scale of psychological adjustment for children and both (depression, Anxiety, poor emotional stability, the dimension of social relationships, personality disorders, and the total measure of psychological and social variables) among an Arab sample. Among its recommendations is improving the environmental, social, and economic conditions for students in Arab schools at the various academic levels to support students’ linguistic production. | ||||
