Abstract | ||||
The floristic composition and phytogeographical analysis of the Belbies center Al-Sharqya governorate, northern part of the country Egypt were studied. The present study provides a detailed description of the floristic composition and life-form. A total of 124 taxa belonging to 80 genera and 29 families were recorded in the 169 different surveyed sectors of study area. Poaceae was constituted the main bulk of the wild plants (25%). The results indicated that, the total number of weeds recorded the highest life form recorded was for the therophytes constituted by 87 species representing 70.61% of the total species. The chorology of the recorded species revealed the dominance of cosmopolitan species over the monoregional. The cosmopolitan elements have in total 31 species representing 25% of the total species. This study recorded 84 ‘new’ species not reported in the last survey on the study area. Key words: Floristic composition; life forms; chorology, Belbies center Al-Sharkia governorate. | ||||
