Abstract | ||||
Background: Telogen effluvium (TE) is a scalp condition characterised by hair shedding that is diffuse and does not leave scars. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a microaerophilic gram-negative bacterium that colonises the gastric mucosa and is found in around 50% of the global population. Aim: To screen for H.pylori in patients with TE. Methods: The study comprised 50 female patients with TE and 30 apparently healthy age-matched females as controls. Laboratory tests were performed, including a complete blood count, serum ferritin, and stool analysis for H. pylori Ag.
