Abstract | ||||
This research aimed to identify the level of rural people’s knowledge and implementation of the technical recommendations related to the tomato drying project in the study area, and to determine the nature of the relationship between the economic and social returns and the overall degree of rural people’s benefit from the tomato drying project, and finally to reveal the obstacles facing rural people in implementing the tomato drying project and their proposals to reduce them. . This research was conducted in Luxor Governorate, as it is one of the governorates in which tomato drying projects are most widespread. The Esna center was chosen as the largest center in terms of the area cultivated with tomatoes. The study sample amounted to 211 rural families that own, participate in, or work in one of the tomato drying projects in the Wadi Naseem region. The personal interview questionnaire was used as a tool to collect study data during July 2023. The simple “Pearson” correlation coefficient was also used to identify the nature of bilateral correlations, as well as ascending stepwise multiple linear regression analysis, and the “F” test was used to judge the significance of the analytical models, in addition to the tabular presentation of frequency and percentages | ||||
