Abstract | ||||
Political language is of great importance because politics politician behavior directly affects the social life of individuals where politicians can influence the public using some linguistic and extralinguistic strategies and skills. Political language aims at persuading o guiding the receiving public and also providing a political communication. For this purpose, politicians use simple language and clear and safe constructions because informal communication allows politicians to access many recipients. In this paper we have dealt briefly with linguistic pragmatics and addressed the nature of political language and the interpretation of this language. Also, we have studied some orally translated speeches from Spanish into Arabic in order to examine how interpreters process the political language, how they interpret this language and whether the message is fully communicated. After the analysis, we have found that in the context of interpreting political speeches it is better to translate them previously to reduce the loss of information and in this case the interpreter makes a simultaneous interpretation with text. When interpreter use all his linguistic, cultural, pragmatic, etc., competences, he will understand good the original text and will provide a good interpretation of the terminal text. | ||||
