Abstract | ||||
The natural resources (Soil - plant – aquatic situation) in the New Valley Governorate are experiencing a deterioration due to the impact of climatic, environmental and human activities in New Valley. This has led to a decrease in the agricultural income of farmers, and therefore it was the importance of studying the determinants of development available in the governorate and how agricultural projects benefit from them to reach the optimal use of available resources based of these changes and to verify the sustainability of these projects in achieving their goals. Therefore, the research aims to identify the determinants of development and evaluate the extent of the projects’ ability to solve the problems that farmers suffer from and the sustainability of achieving them. The goal of these development projects: The research relied on the use of the descriptive analytical approach to present and analyze the research problem, the current situation, and various variables related to the research. The research also relied on quantitative analysis to measure the extent of sustainability of existing projects and their ability to achieve their goals through various statistical methods to achieve the following results: For the economic evaluation of the projects, it was noted that the use of integrated agricultural practices with the start of the project activities led to an improvement in indicators of the productive and economic efficiency of the crops grown compared to the use of traditional agricultural practices before the start of the project activities, as these indicators are (crop productivity - total costs - total revenues - Net profit - ratio of revenues to costs - standard return on invested pounds). Therefore, the research recommends increasing the number of existing agricultural projects in the New Valley Governorate, which help train farmers on modern technologies to achieve the best use of the resources available in the region and work to produce new strains of crops that adapt to the conditions of the region in order to increase productivity. | ||||
