Abstract | ||||
Fast dissolving drug delivery systems have been created in place of traditional dosage forms for administering drugs for chronic conditions. Fast-dissolving films are more popular than conventional tablets and capsules in masking the bitter taste of medicines to enhance patient adherence. Quickly dissolving films are composed of an ultra thin strip that dissolves in under one minute when placed on the tongue. Dissolvable oral thin films, like breath strips, have been available for the last few years and have been well-received by consumers for administering vitamins, vaccines, as well as other medications. The review also thoroughly explains the different methods used in film production. The current review outlines the most recent patents related to fast-dissolving films. A short analysis was conducted on numerous factors used to assess these movies. Regarding long-term illnesses, fast-dissolving films are more effective for administering drugs and achieving quicker therapeutic blood levels than traditional oral forms. | ||||
