Abstract | ||||
Blood haematological, biochemical and immuno- logical alterations were investigated before and after vaccination of camels with camel pox (CP) vaccine and/or infection with virulent CP virus (VCPV). The experiments were done on twelve, one-humped camels aged 18-24 months which were clinically healthy and free from antibodies against camel pox in their sera and divided into four groups. They were kept under observation and strict isolation measures. The haematological, biochemical and immunological results correlate and confirm each other and proved that changes after vaccination or infection with pox viruses started one week post inoculation and reached the peak at the 4th week and their levels differ in the different groups. Depending on the obtained results, the diagnosis and differentiation between the different conditions of (non vaccinated, vaccinated, infected after vaccination or infected with Pox virus) could be easily detected in camels. | ||||
