Abstract | ||||
The current study aimed to investigate the effect of using authentic video snippets on developing some listening skills for fourth-year Kindergarten non-major students, Faculty of Education, Damietta University. A one group pre-posttest design was employed. Some listening skills were determined using a checklist that was approved by a jury of EFL specialists. The researcher prepared and administered a listening skills test. Participants were randomly selected into one group (n = 50) in the academic year 2021-2022. The group received instruction through authentic video snippets that is collected in Google Groups Platform. A mindset growth scale was used to assess the participants' Growth Language Mindset, with dimensions rated on a 4-point Likert scale. A pre-posttest was administered to the group to assess certain listening skills. Post-implementation of the pre-posttest and Growth Language Mindset was administered at the end of the intervention. Results demonstrated the effectiveness of using authentic video snippets in enhancing the listening skills of the participants. | ||||
