Abstract | ||||
This research was carried out during 2022/2023 at Cotton Research Inst. Agric. Res. Canter, Giza Egypt Cooperated with Egyptian National Company for Industrial Development (ENCID) to evaluate the yarn quality traits for long Egyptian Cotton varieties i.e. Giza 97, Giza 94 and Giza 86 at Good grade. Twist multiplier 3.6 was used for the three long varieties under study. All the Fiber properties were tested at ENCID M.Badr Elroubeky, Cairo, where the yarn traits. were examined and spinning as using Compact spinning system. The obvious results of this investigation can be summarized as follows: The difference between fiber properties were distributed among the studied cotton varieties i.e. Giza 97 var. located the first order due to U.H.M., UI. and Mic. R., whereas Giza 86 var. awarded the highest mean for F.St. Meanwhile, Giza94 var. gave the maximum elongation %. Under spinning Compact system 40’s yarn count confirmed it's superiority for the desirable properties such as Single yarn strength and yarn Elongation % with significant level, while it gave the lowest values for the yarn demirts i. e. cV%, thin and thick places as comparing with the other experimented 50’s and 60’s yarn count. The obtained results showed that the created interaction (var. x Y.C.) had a significant effect on the studied yarn properties. | ||||
