Abstract | ||||
The present study examines the length-weight relationships (LWRs), Fulton’s condition factor (Kc), relative weight condition factor (Kn) and length-length relationships (LLRs) of three Gerres species (G. longirostris, G. oyena, and G. oblongus) from Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt, to assess their growth patterns and health. A total of 854 specimens were collected from January to December 2020. Results showed that G. longirostris and G. oyena exhibited positive allometric growth (b > 3), while G. oblongus displayed negative allometric growth (b < 3). Condition factors indicated G. longirostris had the highest overall health, with seasonal variations observed in Kn values. Length-length relationships were strongly correlated (R² > 0.90), reflecting consistent proportional growth. The findings underscore the influence of environmental factors on growth and highlight the need for sustainable fisheries management to conserve these ecologically and economically important species in the Red Sea. This study provides essential baseline data for future conservation efforts | ||||
