Background: Immunization plays a pivotal role in protecting individuals and communities from preventable diseases. Through the administration of vaccines, the immune system is primed to recognize and fight off specific pathogens, thus preventing illness. Aim: To assess the actual performance of nurses in PHC settings at Kafr El Sheikh Governorate regarding children immunization. Also, to develop, implement & evaluate the impact of a training program about children immunization on the nurses’ knowledge and practice. Settings: The study was conducted in 17 primary health care settings affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Population at Kafr El Sheikh Governorate. Subject: All available nurses assigned to under five children vaccination in the previously selected PHC settings were included in the study. They accounted for 40 nurses. Conclusion: According to the study's findings, nurses' knowledge improved after the training program compared to before Recommendations: Enhance legislative and regularity measures to improve immunization training program. Conduct comparative studies in different urban and rural regions to determine the defects and needs for training program to improve Nursing performance during vaccination. | ||||
