| ملخص البحث مدلول لفظ لا أعرفه عند يحيي بن معين تناولت في هذه الدراسة البحث عن مدلول مصطلح "لا أعرفه" عند الإمام ابن معين حيث قمت باستخراج أسماء الرواه الذين أطلق عليهم الإمام ابن معين وصف لاأعرفه ثم ترجمت لكل راو بذكر اسمه كاملا مع إيراد سنة وفاته إن وجدت ،واقتصرت في ترجمة كل راو علي ما قيل فيه جرحا وتعديلا ،مع تصدير كل ترجمة من التراجم بقول الإمام ابن معين ،ثم ختمت كل ترجمة بدراسة أقوال النقاد فيه ،وترجيح ما رأيته أنسب لحاله من أقوالهم. وقد حاولت تجلية موقف ابن معين من الرواة الذين أطلق عليهم وصف"لا أعرفه" وذلك بموازنة كلامه فيهم بكلام غيره من النقاد ؛لمعرفة منزلتهم عند المحدثين ،وما يترتب علي ذلك من حكم الرواية عنهم بغرض الوقوف علي مذهب الإمام ابن معين في مراده من هذا الوصف ،وقد توصلت في نهاية دراستي إلي أن عبارة لا أعرفه وصف يطلقه الإمام ابن معين علي المجهول سواء من جهل حاله وإن كان معروفا عينه،أو من جهل عينه وحاله معا. وقد بلغ عدد الرواه الذين قال فيهم ابن معين هذا اللفظة ثلاثون راويا ؛ وقد يطلقه أحيانا علي الضعفاء المحتمل ضعفهم ،وإما اطلاقه هذا الوصف علي ماكانت نتيجة دراسة أقوال النقاد فيه صدوق فقد يراد به قلة حديثه، كما أناستعمال الإمام بعض المصطلحات النقدية التي تختاج إلي بيان مدلولاتها عنده نظرا لتوسعه في تلك المصطلحات وهذا التوسع وإن دل يدل علي مدي تبحر هذا الإمام الجليل في علم الجرح والتعديل.. وقد أسفرت دراسة أقوال النقاد في الرواة الذين حكم عليهم الإمام ابن معين ب "لا أعرفه" عن النتائج الآتية: أطلق الإمام ابن معين هذا الوصف علي ثلاثة عشر راويا كانت نتيجة دراسة أقوال النقاد فيهم الجهالة، كماأطلق الإمام البخاري هذا الوصف علي ستة رواه وكانت نتيجة نتيجة دراسة أقوال النقاد فيهم الضعف، كماأطلق الإمام البخاري هذا الوصف علي ستة رواه وكانت نتيجة دراسة أقوال النقاد فيهم صدوق، وأطلق الإمام البخاري هذا الوصف علي راويين وكانت نتيجة دراسة أقوال النقاد فيهم صدوق يخطئ. The Signified Meaning of the Phrase “I Do Not Know Him” In the Judgment of Yahya ibn Ma'in Abstract This study examines the meaning of the phrase “I do not know him” as used by Imam Yahya ibn Ma'in in his evaluation of narrators. It involves extracting the names of narrators whom Ibn Ma'in described with this phrase, followed by a translation of each narrator's biography—including their full name and, if available, their year of death. The study limits each biography to what has been said about the narrator regarding Jarh wa Ta'dil (criticism and validation), presenting each entry with Ibn Ma'in’s statement before concluding with an analysis of critics' opinions and determining the most appropriate evaluation. The study seeks to clarify Ibn Ma'in’s stance on the narrator(s) whom he labeled “I do not know him” by comparing his assessment with the views of other scholars. This comparison helps to determine the narrators' status among Ḥadīth scholars and the subsequent ruling on narrating from them, thereby shedding light on Ibn Ma'in’s intent behind using this phrase. The study concludes that the term “I do not know him” was applied by Ibn Ma'in to unknown narrators, whether their status was uncertain despite their identified name or both their identity and status were entirely unknown. The study identifies thirty narrators whom Ibn Ma'in described with this phrase. Occasionally, he applied it to weak narrators with potential deficiencies. In cases where critics assessed a narrator as truthful (Saduq), Ibn Ma'in’s phrase might indicate their limited Ḥadīth transmission. In addition, the study highlights Ibn Ma'in’s expansive use of certain critical terminology, requiring further clarification to grasp his intent fully. His broad application of such terms reflects his deep expertise in the science of Ḥadīth criticism (Jarh wa Ta'dil). The study of critics’ assessments regarding narrators whom Ibn Ma'in labeled “I do not know him” produced the following results: Ibn Ma'in applied this phrase to thirteen narrators, with critics ultimately identifying them as unknown (Majhul). Imam Al-Bukhari used the same phrase for six narrators, whom critics later determined to be weak (Da'if). Al-Bukhari also applied the phrase to six narrators, later assessed as truthful (Saduq). Al-Bukhari used the phrase for two narrators, ultimately classified as truthful but prone to errors (Saduq yukhṭiʾ).
