ABSTRACT: The objective of this paper is to experimentally investigate the hydrodynamic performance of the suggested breakwater system when used as a wave energy dissipater. In order to verify the hydrodynamic efficiency of the suggested system; in terms of wave damping and reflection, an experimental study was carried out, through which, different breakwater configurations and variable wave climates were investigated to determine the best structural features to obtain maximum wave damping efficiency and the most suitable surrounding wave conditions. The experimental results show that the submerged stepped rublle-mound breakwater, succeeded in lowering wave height on the lee side of the incident waves. Also it was found that the most dominant structural parameter that affects wave transmissions, reflection and wave dissipation is the slope of breakwaters. | ||||
