Abstract | ||||
Polymerizable surfactant (methoxy polyethylene glycol methacrylate) (MPM) was synthesized by direct esterification reaction between (methoxy polyethylene glycol) and methacrylic acid and characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy. MPM was incorporated natural rubber (NR) and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and inspected as antioxidants for mixes vulcanizates to raise their resistant for ageing through storage to increase shelf life time. As well as possible to compare the effect of investigated (methoxy polyethylene glycol methacrylate) (MPM) with the commercial applied antioxidant in the production of rubber, as (2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline[TMQ]. The rheometric and physico mechanical properties of rubber mixes after and before thermal ageing were measured. The results obtained revealed that 1 and 1.5 methoxy polyethylene glycol methacrylate (MPM) parts per 100 of rubber (phr) have superior effect in the protection of NR and SBR vulcanizates respectively. | ||||
