Abstract | ||||
This paper has come under the title of “Distance education as a teacher training approach in light of information and communication technology. This to explain how distance education help overcoming the problems that can happen inside educational institutes as a result of using the traditional methods of training. One of the most important issues that can be solved by using distance education/training is the teacher training regarding all levels of schooling from primary teachers to university faculties. This is according to what has come in several studies and literatures on the importance of distance education for teacher education and training. However, this paper addresses the concept of distance education, philosophical and psychological foundations behind, the characteristics, purposes, benefits, and resources of distance education. Moreover, it is explained through this paper the need of using distance education in the field of teacher training. The paper is concluded by some recommendations and suggestions that can be suitable for applying distance education as a training approach in the field of teacher training. | ||||
