Abstract
يتناول هذا البحث سبعة حراس لبوابات العالم الآخر کما هو وارد في بردية P. MMA 35.9.21، وکتاب الموتى فصل 144، وکتاب الطريقين. وتدور الفکرة الرئيسية للبحث حول أن هؤلاء الحراس السبعة موجودون في النصوص الدينية المصرية منذ عصر الدولة الوسطى في نصوص التوابيت. وظلَّ هذا الاستخدام خلال الدولة الحديثة في نصوص کتاب الموتى وظهر في نصوص العصر البطلمي في بردية P. MMA 35.9.21. کما يتناول الباحث کيفية انتقال النصTextual Transmission  من فترة لأخرى، وما التغيرات التي طرأت على النص نتيجة ذلک؟ وکيف للنص الديني الواحد أن يُستخدم في أکثر من سياق سواء أکان نصًّا جنازيًّا أم نصًّا يستخدم في طقوس المعابد؟
