Abstract | ||||
Abstract Laparoscopic colorectal resection is used increasingly in colon and rectal cancer treatment. In our study, two NOTES techniques were assessed; laparoscopic colorectal resection with Natural Orifice Specimen Extraction (NOSE) in 16 cases and transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (taTME) in 18 cases. Feasibility, short term oncologic outcome, as well as, com-paring both techniques are displayed. Finally, although patients in our study were not randomly assigned to either arm, we could demonstrate better quality of mesorectal excision in the transanal dissection group in comparison to conventional laparoscopy with NOSE technique. | ||||
