Abstract | ||||
Investigation of the lipid contents of Ocimum basilicum L. herb revealed the presence of & amyrins, -sitosterol, stigmasterol and ursolic acid besides nine fatty acids, the majors were oleic, linoleic, palmitic and Linolinic acids. Forskolin diterpenoid was isolated and identified from the semipurified extract. The hypotensive and cardiovascular effects of both ethanolic and the semipurified extract of the herb was similar to that of Forskolin. | ||||
