Abstract | ||||
From the hexane fraction of the atdoholic extract oj'th~· leaves of Alestonia scholarls R.Br. {Apocynaceae), five compounds have been isolated and identified as 4a,14a,24- trimethyl-9β,19-cyclo-5a-cholest-24(29)-en-3β ol; stiginasterol, betulin, betulinlc acid, and aamyrin acetate. The structures of the isolated compounds were principally deduced by physical, chromatographic characters as well as by spectroscopic analyses. The isolated compounds are reported here for the first time. | ||||
