Abstract | ||||
Introduction: Congenital heart disease has a significant incidence between newborns, is divided to cyanotic, acyanotic C.H.D.. Objective: To assess platelet number, function in cases, cases with congenital cyanotic heart disease. Methods: This study will be carried out in Zagazig University, pediatric, neonatology department cardiology unit, From June 2016 till October 2018. Cases, cases with congenital cyanotic heart disease. Results: The total population size of cyanotic congenital heart disease in Zagazig hospital is 48 cases. The prevalence of platelets impairment is 37.8%. So the sample size is 35 case using Epi info version 6 with power 80% C.I 85%. Conclusion: Congenital cyanotic heart disease in cases may be associated with sort of impairment in platelet number or function irrespectively. Bleeding disorder not necessarily to be symptomatic in these patient, might be discovered in routine investigation such as C.B.C. showing thrombocytopenia or more specific investigation such as Bleeding time or Platelet aggregation tests.
