Abstract | ||||
Aluminium- silicon alloy metal matrix composites reinforced with two types of low-carbon steel-plates were prepared by sand-mould casting technique. Friction and wear tests were performed under dry sliding condition using a pin-on-disc type tribometer. The results showed that Al /Si alloy reinforced with low-carbon steel-plate composites exhibit higher wear resistance than monolithic Al /Si alloy. | ||||
