Abstract | ||||
This research discusses the competitive abilities of the Egyptian tourism companies through applying the EFQM Excellence Model. The problem of the study focused on the lack of modern management systems in the Egyptian travel agencies and the lack of engagement in developing required plans for competing with the local and international markets. This study aims at demonstrating the relationship between quality awards and management excellence and as well as introducing the concepts and criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model. A mixed methods approach was used when both qualitative and quantitative data was used. Statistical analysis was used to test the study hypothesis and reach some relationships among the study variables. The results show the relationship between using the EFQM Excellence Model and supporting the competitive abilities of the Egyptian travel agencies. This relationship has been characterized to be statistically significant and the total result of using the EFQM Excellence Model was (Strongly agree. This indicates the importance of using this model in supporting the local and international competitive abilities of the Egyptian travel agencies. In addition, the study has presented several recommendations for using the EFQM model including a suggestion for the Egyptian travel agencies to support their local and international competitive abilities. | ||||
