Abstract | ||||
The study aims to citation analysis from the most prominent periodicals articles in the domain of Libraries and Information in Egypt to identify to what extent Egyptian researchers benefit from foreign intellectual production, which includes recent and important information for researchers in the area of Libraries and Information. Following bibliometric approach, the study has revealed several findings, the most important of which are the following: size of intellectual production, cited in the periodicals under investigation, is 6202 sources: that of Arab cited one is 3117 (50.26%) while that of foreign cited one is 3040 (49.02%); translated intellectual production is 45 sources (0.72%); electronic sources rank first among the forms of the sources of foreign cited intellectual production(47.93%), journal articles rank second (34.08%) followed by other forms of sources; size of cited intellectual production, published in Arabic (whether in Arabic or translated into it), is 3162 sources (50.98%) while that in English is 3037 (48.97%); size of intellectual production published in French is only 0.05% | ||||
