Abstract | ||||
Two aliphatic hydrocarbons, anthraquinone (physcion). b-sitosterol, four flavonoids (apigenin, luteolin, apigenin-7-O-glucoside and 5,7,8,4'-pentahydroxy flavone-6-O-8-O-diglucoside) and the piperidine alkaloids [2-methyl-3-hydroxy-6-dodecyl acetyl piperidine, its isomer and 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-6-(13-tetradecyl acetyl) piperdine] were isolated and identified from the leaves of Cassia spectabilis DC. The identity was accomplished through physical, chemical and spectral studies. | ||||
