Abstract | ||||
The objective of this work was to determine the total phenol content and antioxidant activities of the fungus Ulocladium botrytis Preuss isolated from Draceana sp. leaf. Extraction of the fungal culture was carried out with ethyl acetate (EtOAc) followed by methanol (MeOH). The different extracts (EtOAc and MeOH) were tested for their in vitro antioxidant activities using two different methods, the 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) and the phosphomolybdate complex assays, while their total phenol contents were evaluated by the Folin-Ciocalteu method. The EtOAc extract displayed higher amount of total phenol content as well as higher antioxidant potential than the MeOH extract. | ||||
