Abstract | ||||
Nanotechnology is an exciting area of scientific development which promises more for less. It offers ways to create small, cheap, light and fast devices that can do more clever things , use less raw materials and consume less energy. The application of nanotechnology in interior design and furniture using nanomaterials is a promising area to bring change and convenience to indoor living environment. The indoor environment usually refers to the minor environment which encloses walls ,floor , furniture ,upholstery and interior decoration. Recent studies showed that for indoor environment, surface contamination can be treated by utilizing antimicrobial silver nano- particles coating to get rid of the organic materials and microbial growth . The research paper showed the important of using nano silver antimicrobial coating in the interior environment surfaces or furniture ,upholsery, linen , mattress, covers, wall paper, ceramic, latexpaint carpet, adhesives, glass, and other material which are suitable medium for microbes production . This research suggested a way of adhesion upholstery cuts by sterilizing it first using antimicrobial silver nano particles technology then using silica oxide nano particle solution to fixe it . A droplet of silca oxide nano particles solution is spread and brush at the interior side cut surface then the two cut edges are brought into contact by gentle manual pressure. Nano particles adsorbed onto surface components at the two sides, form numerous connector bridges that link the cut edges together. Research objective: is to provide a healthy environment free of contaminants and microbes vectors through the use of " anti- microbial nano-technology " by creating a new vision for the design and the use of the surface of the interior environment at low cost and long lasting effectivity while keeping the functional and the aesthetic and healthy aspects of the interior decorations. Findings: Applications of Nano antimicrobial technology in the indoor environment is expected to show a significant boom in the coming years, Also, the development of interior decoration and furniture industry must focus on safety and health . It is urgent to work out an advanced nano antimicrobial technology which is of practical significance to create out and stabilize nano-antimicrobial interior decoration and furniture purchasing consumer’s trust .It is also important not to exaggerate the nano- antimicrobial effect and mislead the consumers ,resulting in the unstable of nano- antimicrobial industry of interior decoration , furniture and upholstery . | ||||
