Abstract | ||||
The architectural forms in Yemen differed according to the climate and terrain, and accordingly the furnishing methods differed between the mountainous highland cities that moderate their climate like Sanaa and the coastal plains region (Tuhama), which is characterized by a high temperature climate. The furnishing of the dwelling rooms in cities such as Al Hudaydah, Al-Haya, Al-Mokha and Zabid, located in the Tihama Plain, differed from those that we find in the hills and mountainous hills of Yemen, so the relief in Sanaa or the Diwan in Taiz and Ab , While the situation is completely different in the house Thami. The most important types of furniture in Tihama are bases and lights. Potty is a simple bed consisting of four legs attached by wooden beams and its sitting is mostly made of ropes, while the pulpit takes the form of potty but it is distinguished from it by a pyramidal back. This study will try to show the different types of heritage Yemeni dwelling and environmental data that had a role in designing Yemeni furniture and highlight the most important features that distinguish this furniture in terms of color, portability, wood and plants from which it was made. It will also refer to the recent transformations and the presentation of some contemporary furniture models that are closely related to the heritage | ||||
