Abstract | ||||
Woven fabrics are considered one of the most important uses of a person in his daily life, from which clothing and furnishings of all kinds are made, and all fabrics are exposed to environmental factors that make them vulnerable to dirt and pollutants present in that environment. Hence the research problem lies in trying to produce cotton fabrics that are easy to remove dirt from them using some variables of the structural composition For threads and fabrics. The research aims to obtain these fabrics and the extent of the impact of the variables used in the research to remove dirt. Assuming that the types of strings are “single-applied” and the length of the tissue structure and the inter-spaces within the fabrics affect the removal of dirt. The research has followed the experimental approach where production Single strings and their applied counterparts Each single thread and its counterpart had one tigress and one twirl number, different from the other two strings. Fabrics were produced from those strings using a plain woven composition 1 | 1 and cooler 3 | 1 of the weft. The dirt removal test was done, as the fabric samples were dirty using specific proportions of grinded vegetable carbon, mineral oils and melted grease in carbon tetrachloride, then a detergent solution was used with heating for two hours with samples. Each sample was placed in a soap solution inside cups that are closed to be placed in a special washing machine It is rotated inside the washing machine for half an hour. After samples exit from the washing machine, they were rinsed with plain water and left to dry. The gray scale was used to determine the degree of dirtiness of the samples. The most important results were that the fabrics produced with a single thread were better in removing dirt from those produced with the applied thread where most of them recorded the highest values To the degree of removing dirt, as the length of the fabric structure has a clear effect. The higher the length, the more difficult it is to remove dirt from them. Also, the distances between the smaller the area, the smaller the degree of dirt removal. | ||||
