Abstract | ||||
The study aims to study traditional decorations in Saudi Arabia and design clothes for college girls inspired by traditional decorations, as college girls' clothes are an important source of expressing culture and personal identity. They reflect our cultural traditions and traditional techniques in clothing design. In this study, a descriptive analytical applied method was followed, where traditional pieces were described and analyzed to determine the extent of interest in designs. The decorations in the Taif region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been chosen with their architectural and decorative details, which are the dresses worn by women, and the study targeted university girls, where (5) designs were drawn, each design consisting of two pieces, taking into account the elements and principles of design. A questionnaire was designed to judge the designs by (10) judges in the field of specialization, and it was one of the most important. The results of the study emphasize the necessity of turning to traditional Saudi decorations as a source of inspiration in teaching fashion design courses, due to the artistic values they contain that add a touch of uniqueness, authenticity, and creativity to the designs. This is reflected in the study environment and enhances its role in developing fashion design skills for fashion industry professionals. | ||||
