| Abstract | ||
| The research aimed to conduct an economic evaluation of sugar production from sugar beets in Egypt by studying the production and consumption indicators of the sugar beet crop in Egypt, studying the development of sugar production and consumption, the sugar gap, self-sufficiency, and the average per capita share of sugar. A financial and economic evaluation was conducted for the Delta Sugar Manufacturing Company, where a set of ratios were used to evaluate performance and its ability to achieve profits. This was done by relying on some methodological procedures (induction and deduction, descriptive statistical method, quantitative statistical method). Among the most important results reached by the research are the inability of production capacity to catch up with consumer capacity and the decreasing rate of self-sufficiency due to the continuous increase in population, an increase in the total return and net return per pound from the sugar beet crop, and an increase in profitability indicators that indicate an increase in the company’s efficiency in achieving profits. One of the most important recommendations is to establish special factories to manufacture sugar from beets in agricultural governorates where large amounts of cultivated land are concentrated to reduce transportation costs and achieve the highest profits.. | ||
