| Abstract | ||
| This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using Quizlet activities in developing vocabulary knowledge among fifth-grade primary pupils learning English as a foreign language (EFL). A quasi-experimental research design was adopted. The participants consisted of 60 pupils from Talla Primary School for Girls in Minia Governorate, Egypt. They were equally divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction through Quizlet-based activities, while the control group was taught vocabulary using traditional methods such as memorization and translation. The treatment lasted for eleven weeks. To assess the effectiveness of the program, the researcher developed a checklist of essential vocabulary sub-skills and a pre-post vocabulary knowledge test. The test covered key areas such as synonyms, antonyms, prefixes, suffixes, and word meaning recognition. Statistical analysis using t-tests revealed significant differences in favor of the experimental group on the post-test. The findings indicated that the Quizlet-based instruction had a positive impact on vocabulary retention and recognition, and it enhanced pupil engagement and motivation. The study recommends incorporating digital tools like Quizlet into EFL instruction at the primary stage to promote more interactive and effective vocabulary learning.
