Abstract | ||||
ملخص: يعتبر الأمن الغذائي من التحديات الرئيسية في قارة أفريقيا بصفة عامة وفي اقليم جنوبي افريقيا بصفة خاصة، فبالرغم من توفر الموارد الطبيعية من الارض والمياة والموارد البشرية، إلا ان زيادات السکان بمنطقة الدراسة تفوق تطلعات الدول لسد الفجوة الغذائية من خلال الطلب المتزايد على الأغذية، مما جعل دول الاقليم مستورداً للعديد من السلع الغذائية الرئيسية، ومع تزايد الاسعار العالمية تدنى نصيب الفرد من المنتجات الغذائية سواء النباتية أو الحيوانية فتدني نصيب الفرد من سعرات البروتين والدهون. وتعود أهمية البحث لکون الفجوة الغذائية تنعکس سلباً على الأمن القومي لدول جنوبي أفريقيا، وکذلک التعرف على مدى أهمية الأمن الغذائىلدى سکان دول اقليم جنوبي افريقيا. ويرجع انعدام الأمن الغذائي بين دول الإقليم ذلک إلى تزايد أعداد السکان وسوء الظروف المناخية وخاصة (الجفاف والفيضانات) والأزمات الاقتصادية وانتشار الفقر وضعف استحقاق الفرد من الغذاء وانخفاض نصيب الفرد من حيازة الأراضي الزراعية وانتشار فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية / الإيدز والسياسات الحکومية والنزاعات والصراعات، مما ترتب على ذلک مجموعة من النتائج أهمها اتساع للفجوة الغذائية بين سکان إقليم جنوبي أفريقيا وانتشار قصور التغذية (أمراض سوء التغذية) وانتشار المجاعات وتزايد الاضطرابات والفوضى، وقد توصل البحث لبعض التوصيات منها ضرورة إحداث تغيرات جذرية في السياسات الزراعية والمائية لتزايد معدل النمو في الإنتاجية الزراعية، تطوير سلالات البذور وانتاج اصناف زراعية مقاومة للجفاف واستعادة خصوبة الأراضي المتدهورة، التخلص من الطرق التقليدية للزراعة واستخدام الطرق الحديثة، والاهتمام بالثروة الحيوانية من خلال تحسين السلالات وتوفير الرعاية البيطرية لها. | ||||
