Abstract
Increasing autistic patients lately represents a challenge for researchers to reach solutions helping them to be beneficial elements in the society. One of the most important methods of treatment for these diseases is to help them to engage in society by creating an appropriate environment for them. One of the most important problems facing them and increase the exacerbation of symptoms they have is not to create the appropriate environment around them, so that they meet their psychological and physical needs to help them to overcome its symptoms, neglect the role of interior design in achieving this, in addition to the lack of interest of the interior designer identifying the psychological needs of autistics. The research aims to determine the psychological needs that must be considered when designing the internal space for autistics, and how to design the internal space to meet this needs. The research assumes that meeting the psychological needs of autistics in the internal space helps to modify the behavior resulting from the disease and affects the results of the rehabilitation and treatment program. The research follows the descriptive and analytical method. One of the most important research results is that the internal space has a great impact on the behavior of autistics and their ability to adapt to the environment surrounding them, and that planning the space as helping occupants in wayfinding has a positive effect in making autistics be able to depend on themselves and increase their self-confidence, and avoiding the causes of sensoryoverload.
