Abstract | ||||
The Environmental Sensitivity Mapping(ESM) Tool is A crucial tools to show location of resources and to indicate environmentally sensitive areas so Environmental planner can use it to take decisions about land development response .GIS has opened up new possibilities for integrating interdisciplinary studies and analysis, which are essential for sustainable planning, especially in island planning as aspecial cases, Island ecosystems are highly sensitive and dynamically, facing many natural and human challenges. Therefore, the research presents a tool (ESM) that is designed according to the unique characteristics of the Egyptian islands to achieve sustainability by using GIS. In The paper, suggestions for future land use, development decisions and protection decisions can be taken from evidence of ES. Paper will be applied to Al-Shaeir Island, is considered one of the areas of unique island, which is located in head of the Delta, where the Nile branches into Rosetta and Damian, it represents historical environmental components. In addition, the Island faces many economic, social, and construction problems that have led to environmental impacts reflected on the ecosystem. So that, it needs ESM tools for achieving sustainable ecological management in Egyptian island cases. | ||||
