Abstract | ||||
Preparing architectural programs according to internationally approved approaches it follows a highly efficient design and affordable cost, most countries of the world use multiple approaches to preparing space programs of projects during the architectural programming stage. However in Egypt still depends on traditional methods of calculating spaces during preparation those programs and the consequent low quality of the architectural end product, the area is one of the important element that is required to be calculated accurately to ensure an appropriate quality for the project at low cost, so we need to research for a suitable technique to calculate the optimal solution for the gross area that achieves a high quality of the project , so the researchers suggest using linear programming technique that its results are the value of this variables: (net area, services area, area of communication and vertical and horizontal connection element. The research aims minimize the gross area throw some constrains such as standards, requirements, budget, and (min , max) limits for area, etc. then use the simplex method to find the optimal values of the gross area components , that represent the independent variable of study and measure the change on the dependent variables as ( the efficiency and cost of the project). the study be applied on a hypothetical space program, and the results of the optimal solutions targeted for spaces , that achieve the highest efficiency for the project at a cost commensurate with the project budget , this study concluded that the linear programming technique can be used to calculate the area when preparing space programs for architectural projects before the design, and the success of the proposed technique in calculating the optimal solutions that achieve the quality of the project at an early stage during the architectural programming stage before starting the schematic design for the project. | ||||
