Abstract | ||||
The recent study aimed at identifying perceptive & implementive level of agriculture extensionists upon local extension leadership tasks, also identifying the perceptive & implementive level for each task. The correlative relation was measured among the two levels degree as dependent variables, and the following personnel characteristics & situational variables: age, work unit, in agriculture extension, raisness nature, the distance between home residence and work, no. Have studied extension courses, no. of training courses, availability of transportation. The study was carried out in both "kafr - Eldawar & Abou Homos" provinces (markaz) in Elbeherra governorate, 'and in both "Elwasta & Elfashn" provinces (markaz) in Benisuef governorate, The sample size was about 85 extensionists (50 in Elbeherra governorte and 35 in 8enisuef governorate) randomly chosen. An interview questionnaire was used n collecting data, after measuring it's liability and validity, it look about two months (January- February) 2002. The following statistical methods were used: tabulation, averages. standard deviation. percentages, simple and multi correlation, stepwise. The study revealed the following results: - Most of the interviewees were medium in their perception upon the local extension leadership tasks representing 48.24%. - More than two - third of the interviewees accomplished their tasks upon the local extension leadership with a medium implementation level representing about 67.7%. The results indicated that the most important perceived tasks assigned to the extionsionist interviewees, (designedly ranked) were: diffusing new varieties through the local leadership (80%), training local leadership (75%), encouraging local leadership to plan & organize extension programs (27.94%), providing information resources and new experiences (72.93%). The results also revealed the following personnel characteristics and situational factors affecting both perceptive & implementive levels of the agriculture extensionists upon agriculture extension leadership tasks: number of studied extension courses, number of training courses, working period in agriculture extension. | ||||
