Abstract | ||||
The study aimed to find out the relationship of self-handicapping to both self-efficacy and the locus of control among adolescents, and to reveal the differences between males and females of adolescents in self-handicapping; The study sample consisted of (300) male and female high school students in Sohag Governorate, (150) males, and (150) females, with an average age of (15.77), and a standard deviation of (0.75), and the following tools were used: Self-handicapping scale (prepared by the researcher), Self-efficacy scale (prepared by the researcher), and the scale of the locus of control (prepared by the researcher), and used the the descriptive method, and the results of the study found a statistically significant negative correlation between the scores of the study sample on the scale of self-handicapping and its dimensions and their degrees on the scale of self-efficacy and its dimensions, and the existence of a statistically significant negative correlation between the scores of the study sample on the scale of self-handicapping and its dimensions and their degrees on the scale of the locus of control and its dimensions, The results of the study also resulted in statistically significant differences between the average scores of the study sample of adolescents on the self-handicapping scale towards males. | ||||
