Abstract | ||||
The present study was conducted to investigate the impact of using a program based on mobile-assisted language learning approach (MALL) on improving second-year English majors' conversational academic acquisition and autonomy. The study used the quasi-experimental research design (pre-post control group design). Sixty students enrolled in the second year, English section at the Faculty of Education were randomly assigned to two intact groups: an experimental group and a control group. The students in the experimental group were trained and instructed using a program based on mobile-assisted language learning whereas their counterparts in the control group did not receive such training as they received conventional instruction. Instruments of the study included a mobile device literacy questionnaire, a test of conversational academic acquisition and a scale of autonomy. Analysis of data obtained by students using (t-test, and eta-squared) revealed that the students in the experimental group significantly surpassed their counterparts in the control group in the post-performance on the test of conversational academic acquisition and the scale of autonomy | ||||
