Abstract | ||||
The objectives of this study is to assess the reality of securing Special collections process in sample of Egyptian libraries, and to provide the necessary suggestions for the treatment of weaknesses and confirmation of strengths. The study was based on field Method, and a checklist of hundred and one elements was designed and applied on the studded libraries. Main findings were: Weaknesses such as: the absence of security policies for Special Collections, the lack of physical facilities and automatic security systems and shortage of personnel and lack of training. Also it showed strengths such as: awareness of employees with the subject and good quality of fire protection systems. The study provides recommendations for the development of Special Collections Security include policies, procedures, human resources, physical facilities, electronic systems and others. | ||||
